AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global other words were the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers storage networking power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and were looking for talented people who want to help.
Youll join a diverse team of software hardware and network engineers supply chain specialists security experts operations managers and other vital roles. Youll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. We are looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. Data Center Engineering Operations Technician is a hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation responder. If you like to use apply your electrical and mechanical skills to solve problems wed like to meet you. Your work will help to maintain one of the worlds largest information system infrastructures.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
SAFETY
Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. As a facility owner team ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster strong safety culture.
ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPSs) Switchgear Circuit Breakers Automatic Transfer Switches (ATSs) Diesel Generators Chillers Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) Exhaust Fans Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Transformers.
oTroubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
oTake daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures voltages currents etc.)
oSupervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance
Physical requirements
Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations).
Ability to work shifts (morning late and night)
Perform physical tasks during the shift
