Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $21.00 per hour
Required Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in a Human Resources or administrative support role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
- High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals including faculty staff students and external stakeholders.
- Comfortable facilitating orientation sessions and delivering training related to HR policies and processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Experience in a higher education environment.
- Familiarity with employment laws.
- Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague.
Responsibilities:
The HR Associate is responsible for a wide range of duties including:
- Serves as the first point of contact for incoming departmental calls ensuring they are directed to the appropriate HR staff member.
- Conducts benefit overviews with job candidates.
- Assists with coordinating and participating in the delivery of human resource training including new employee orientation recruitment policies and procedures etc.
- Coordinates the Professional Development Training and Warrior Wellness programs. Sets up weekly professional development and wellness classes for faculty and staff.
- Coordinates the annual employee benefits and resource fair.
- Maintains and updates the HRS and Professional Development / Warrior Wellness websites.
- Processes I-9s and new hire paperwork for new employees and verifies employment eligibility through E-Verify.
- Places advertisements for vacant positions and supports recruitment functions such as composing announcements assisting with recruitment plans and explaining application and hiring processes.
- Enters new employees and employment updates into the Luma HR system (GHR) and understand the payroll function in Luma Payroll (WFM).
- Recommends feedback and changes to human resource policies.
- Coordinates processes and tracks Family Medical Leave forms (FMLA) for employees.
- Coordinates and manages workers compensation program. Responsible for tracking workers compensation forms and working with State Insurance Fund personnel.
- Conducts thorough search committee training for all searches.
- Maintains employee records.
- Responds to employee inquiries both orally and in writing.
- Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
