Job Description

Warehouse Sorting Assistant

At Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL) we are seeking a passionate Warehouse Sorting Assistantto join our dedicated Social Enterpriseteam.

Location: Kensington

Job Type: Permanent Full-Time working 38hours per week

Salary: $53399.88per annum based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation.

About the role

The positions purpose is to sort clothing and Bric-A-Brac to supply the BSL Opportunity Stores and Hunter Gather Stores.

  • Sorting and separating incoming goods including removal of rubbish and hard goods.
  • Sorting different categories of donated goods.
  • Prepare and pack orders for retail stores.
  • Load and unload trucks as required.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Previous Warehouse experience is desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge and ability to identify brand names quality items and vintage wear
  • An understanding of opportunity shops recycling sustainable fashion practices and circular fashion
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment to achieve objectives.
