Job Description
Join Our Gastroenterology Team in Beautiful Pueblo Colorado!
UCHealth Parkview Medical Group and the Gastroenterology team in Pueblo CO are ready to welcome a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to their team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic interested in working full-time and focused on excellent patient care. Job Responsibilities:
- Work directly with a Gastroenterology physician in a full-time outpatient setting
- Provide 100% outpatient care in a busy clinic environment
- See approximately 20 patients per day
- Maintain a Monday-Friday clinic schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM (No nights weekends or on-call responsibilities)
- Collaborate with a dedicated support team including a Medical Assistant
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans in conjunction with the supervising physician
- Manage patient care for various gastrointestinal conditions
- Utilize EPIC EMR system to document patient interactions and manage care
- Maintain a strong focus on patient care and customer service striving for the best outcomes
- Work in a high-volume clinic meeting the needs of a diverse patient population
- Contribute to team success by actively participating in team meetings and supporting the broader goals of the Gastroenterology department
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Masters degree in Nursing or a Bachelors/Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies
- National board certification: NPs: Certified by ANCC or AANPCB / PAs: Certified by NCCPA (PA-C)
- Unrestricted license to practice as an NP or PA in Colorado or eligibility through the Nurse Licensure Compact (for NPs)
- Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license to prescribe medications
- Full prescriptive authority in accordance with medical staff privileging
- Unrestricted medical staff membership with appropriate practice privileges
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Eligible to provide reimbursable services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid
- No current or prior sanctions or exclusions from HHS/OIG or the GSA List of Excluded Individuals and Entities
License and Certification Requirements:
- Current COVID vaccination
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license
