Job Responsibilities

• Perform microscopic examinations of cell samples to identify any abnormalities and diagnose diseases including cancer.
• Prepare and evaluate specimens for examination ensuring adherence to quality standards and protocols.
• Collaborate with pathologists and other medical professionals to discuss findings and assist in treatment planning.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory results ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in continuing education and training programs to enhance skills and stay updated on advancements in cytology.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and assist in developing new diagnostic techniques.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials in accordance with health regulations.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Cytotechnology or a related field.
• Certification as a Cytotechnologist (ASCP or equivalent).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety and quality assurance protocols.

Desired Experience

• Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and laboratory information systems.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
