This Position reports to:
Chapter Lead Electronics HWYour role and responsibilities
Performs a variety of complex technology and engineering assignments using advanced and innovative techniques; Design and Simulate power electronic subsystems for mission critical power protection applications.
Carry out preliminary tests for design pre-validation; Support the Test Lab during all the testing phases evaluate synthesis of reports of Test and Quality Laboratories and express your definitive opinion on validation of final product.
Generate technical drawings of systems components and interfaces; Generate power and control wire harness design documentation.
Engineering support of manufacturing and building activities; Provides sustaining engineering support for existing products.
Qualifications for the role
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering (Masters preferred) PLUS minimum 2 years experience with electrical systems and complex power electronic systems
Experience in digital and analog circuit design and simulation; Experience with PCB design; Experience with failure investigations and Root Cause & Corrective Action Analysis (RCCA).
Familiar with Altium Designer software or equivalent; Familiar with electronic board re-working; Familiar with oscilloscopes function generators current and voltage generator power analyzer and other test equipment.
Knowledge of ECNs (Engineering Change Notifications) BOMs (Bill of Materials) and documentation systems
Knowledge in environmental reliability and safety requirements for Industrial products a plus; Knowledge and experience with Agile methodology is a plus.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
