What impact youll make
As an Engineering Intern on the Power Conversion & Storage team you will be an active contributor to the testing certification and productization of our FLEXINVERTER FLEXRESERVOIR batteries and FLEXIQ control systems.
Job Description
What youll do (Job Responsibilities)
Collaborate with design engineers compliance engineers product safety engineers and technicians regarding hardware and software design.
Audit and improve InstallationCommissioning and Operation & Maintenance procedures for BESS products.
Review and analyze commissioning data to identify patterns trends or areas of concern.
Ensure that procedures align with industry best practices regulatory requirements and company standards.
Assist with data collection testing and verification activities of new products and sub-systems.
Document findings observations and any issues encountered.
Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

What youll bring (Basic Qualifications)
Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship
What will make you stand out (Desired Qualifications)
Strong understanding of electrical systems power electronics and battery technology.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
A passion for renewable energy and energy storage.
Experience with battery management systems (BMS) and energy storage control systems (ESCS).
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g. IEC UL).
Programming skills (e.g. Python MATLAB).
Previous internship experience in a related field.

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $36.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed
This position is also eligible for:
- Relocation Assistance:Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable proper and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
- Housing Allowance:Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Interns permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
- Employee Assistance Program providing 24/7 confidential assessment counseling and referral services
- GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
