Job Summary

T.Y. Lin International is seeking a Director Complex Projects Rail Transit. The Project Director will oversee the successful execution of complex multi-faceted projects aligned with the organizations strategic goals. The role involves setting project vision managing stakeholder expectations allocating resources mitigating risks and delivering outcomes that drive business value.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Responsible for strategic direction of large-scale projects or programs overall project success Design Design Build (DB) and Program Management (PM) Services within the Rail Transit Sector.

  • When necessary serve as Design Manager or Program Manager in charge of multi-disciplinary teams for all phases of a design build or program from the statement of qualifications to project close-out.

  • Integrate as a key member of our management team ensuring adherence to internal processes engaging directly in DB or PM pursuits to help determine approach pricing structure risk management strategies and equitable contract terms and conditions.

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with client and owner contacts use of our CRM system developing a filtering strategy for teaming with DB or PM teams ability to assist in proposing and successfully winning contracts and overseeing additional DB or PM projects during the post-award phases.

  • Participate in positioning meetings with owners contractors and other teaming partners.

  • Lead preparation of technical proposals during the procurement phase including identification and development of alternative technical concepts cost-efficient solutions as well as scope schedule and budget for delivery phase.

  • Participate in interview presentations for design build or program management team selection.

  • Lead the delivery team define organizational chart lines of communication roles and responsibilities among the team members prepare a detailed staffing plan identify need of support and technical leads according to the project needs.

  • Coordinate with our Alternate Delivery Team to oversee project controls throughout project delivery development of Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules resource loaded schedule design budgets earned value analysis risk management and QA/QC.

  • Able to travel to assist with ongoing DB or PM endeavors (proposal and delivery as needed) and periodic travel elsewhere to attend company meetings and workshops.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer.

  • 20 years of active complex design and delivery experience with project size exceeding $500M.

  • Highly effective communication skills; both written one-on-one and within a group and team environment. Must be a good listener and a highly persuasive communicator with well thought out ideas and a clear point of view.

  • Ability to interface effectively with office and corporate staff peers and superiors and interact effectively with client staff and management sub-consultants project and construction management teams bridge stakeholders and others.

  • Have proven accountability of quality control for both engineering design and construction. Have a proven ability to effectively support project staff multi-disciplined design teams and to provide guidance as needed.

  • Client focused always striving to give clients the best solutions.

  • Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients toughest challenges.

  • High levels of integrity always doing the right thing in an ethical fair and sustainable way.

  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team working together toward technical excellence.
