Job Duties:

The Department of Radiology University of Wisconsin - Madison School of Medicine & Public Health is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to help advance exciting medical imaging and disease-focused projects! The CRC works as part of a team which includes physicians PhD researchers imaging staff and other research support staff to support and advance a portfolio of interesting research projects. The Department of Radiology projects focus on anything from the development of novel imaging techniques to work towards understanding and curing disease. The role of a CRC is quite varied - an average day could include responsibilities ranging from recruiting and enrolling subjects into a study to coordinating and conducting actual subject visits to collaborations with the study team on a wide variety of topics.

  • This position is full or part time 80%-100%

  • This position may require some work to be performed in-person onsite at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely at an offsite non-campus work location.

  • Contact with vulnerable populations that are non-minors (does not pertain to physicians/providers who work with minors): This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

  • Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles listed in this posting (Clinical Research Coordinator I and Clinical Research Coordinator II. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.

  • Travel is required: Must provide a valid drivers license. Employees may use their own transportation or receive approval for University Car Fleet usage.   • Candidates who demonstrate the following knowledge skills and abilities will be given first consideration OR Successful candidates will address the following Knowledge Skills and Abilities in their cover letter: The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and ability to think critically and/or strategically to solve problems.

  • Education: Bachelors degree preferred minimum

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Schedules logistics determines workflows and secures resources for clinical research trials

  • Recruits screens selects determines eligibility and enrolls trial participants collects more complex information performs medical assessments and answers varied questions under supervision of a medically licensed professional. Performs medical assessments after completion of required training/certification such as collecting vital signs obtaining weight and performing phlebotomy

  • Manages research workflow components collects prepares processes and submits participant data and samples to appropriate entities adhering to research protocols

  • Identifies work unit resources needs and manages supply and equipment inventory levels

  • Serves as a main point of contact for clinical research participants providing information regarding research procedures expectations and informational inquiries. Ensures participants follow the research protocol and alerts Principal Investigator of issues

  • Performs quality checks

  • Identifies resource needs and develops clinical research documents such as job aids tools processes procedures and training. Contributes to the development of protocols

  • May assist with training of staff
