POSITION OVERVIEW
The Field Service Foreman is responsible for the installation of doors frames and hardware as per signed contract with customer. The installer will perform the job in a way that supports the companys commitment to safety in the work environment and execute tasks that support the companys mission vision and values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Professionally and independently install and service doors. This includes but is not limited to installing hollow metal frames hollow metal doors wood doors and hardware as per signed contract with customer. Lead supervise and motivate a team of field service technicians responsible for installing servicing and repairing commercial doors and related systems. Oversee and direct the day-to-day operations of the installation team ensuring all work is performed according to company standards safety protocols and customer specifications. Inspect and verify the quality of work completed by technicians ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Collaborate with the installation Superintendent and project teams to ensure that project timelines are met and any potential delays or issues are promptly addressed. Assist with client relations including answering technical questions and providing updates on project progress when necessary. Maintain inventory of tools equipment and materials ensuring technicians have the necessary resources for each job. Complete daily field reports in ERP Acumatica Continue to develop mechanical skills learn new techniques and remain current with the product requirements for installing doors. Ensure all job sites are properly prepared organized and cleaned up after the completion of each job. Ensure projects are performed in a timely manner and on budget. Perform other duties as assigned.
AUTHORITY:
The Field Service Foreman acts within company policies and applicable federal state and local legislation to do whatever is necessary for a successful job and make any decisions required to carry out effectively the strategic and operational goals of Mills & Nebraska. However without the written approval of the Owner may not:
Commit the company to any capital expenditure dispose of any company asset sign any lease contract or agreement nor approve any unbudgeted expenditure. Change or revise established policies procedures and controls. Engage personally in outside business that could conflict with the companys interests. Enter into a relationship with any employee which may have or appear to have an adverse effect upon the ability to carry out responsibilities of the job.
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES Computer proficiency with ability to work in Microsoft Office applications to include Outlook email Ability to learn applicable ERP Acumatica software and use software with proficiency Keen technical interest and aptitude in working with hydraulics mechanics and electronics Hang doors and install hardware (locksets exit devices closers kickplates gasketing door stops overhead stops etc.). Mechanical and electrical (low voltage) competence Must be able to read and understand work orders and blueprints. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team manage multiple service requests and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers team members and management. Ability to analyze technical problems and provide efficient solutions in a timely manner. Familiarity with OSHA regulations safety protocols and industry best practices in the field. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to coordinate and manage multiple service projects and technicians at once. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy equipment and working in various environmental conditions. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts scissor lifts etc. Must be familiar with new construction and the building codes required for installations to pass inspections.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
1. Installation Quality and Compliance Rate: Stive for installation work to be completed fully and meet internal quality benchmarks pass all required inspections and comply with applicable safety regulations and building codes. 2. On-Time Project Completion Rate: Ensures projects are completed on or ahead of the scheduled timeline. 3. Daily Reporting and ERP Accuracy Rate: 100% daily field reports submitted accurately and on time within the ERP system (Acumatica) including job details labor hours materials used and site notes.
EDUCATION/EXPEREINCE:
High School diploma or equivalent At least 5 years of experience in a field service or technical role. minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 certification or other safety training certifications. Experience installing commercial doors frames and hardware. Experience overseeing service projects or managing a team in the field.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Proficient in spoken English to effectively communicate safety protocols job expectations and project details with customers crew members and supervisors. Bilingual abilities in other languages are a plus to support communication with a diverse workforce and customer base. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday. Hours WILL VARY depending on workload Some travel including occasional weekends and overnight stays will be required. A per diem will be provided for travel-related expenses during this time. Must be able to pass a standard background check as well as additional checks for specific job sites that require specialized access such as government buildings schools or other secured locations. This may include obtaining security badges for these sites. Must possess a valid drivers license (for travel to and from job sites). Maintain drivers license and driving record that meets Mills & Nebraskas requirements Frequent to constant standing lifting handling stooping walking carrying kneeling bending and reaching. This position requires medium to heavy lifting of materials. Ability to lift 60lbs to 100 pounds.
