Work Location: Mountsorrel Depot Hawcliffe Road Leicestershire LE12 7AH

Worker Category: Fixed Location Worker.

Salary: 28605 - 31029 per annum pro rata for part-time

Working Hours:Part Time 22.2 Hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

As an Operational Support Assistant you will join a motivated friendly team working within Highways Operations committed to delivering projects within cost and budget parameters by providing a professional business support function taking ownership of processes and paperwork relating to operational activity and teams.

You will assist with processes for the day-to-day timely call off of plant materials and labour resources administer plant and labour returns and utilise technology to minimise administrative time and effort for the collation and submission of data.

You will own key administration processes system updates and the recording and monitoring of information (e.g. annual leave absence PDR information recording crime reference details for stolen plant/ goods monitoring hired plant and vehicles).

The nature of the work may require you to work at both our Croft and Mountsorrel depots

About You

To apply for this post you:

  • have an NVQ level 3 qualification in business administration or equivalent level of relevant experience and a qualification in appropriate subject e.g. ONC Civil Engineering or BTEC Diploma OR demonstrable experience identified within the job specification.
  • have experience of working in an office environment of data analysis administrative processes and procedures; using spreadsheets databases and you are competent in the use of Resource Allocation System and Confirm.
  • have worked within the highways maintenance or civil engineering sectors.
  • have experience of communicating with a range of audiences including presentation and telephone skills and working with and developing relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • have knowledge of current highways legislation including the Highway Act NRSWA and Construction (Design and Maintenance) regulations and of technical competencies processes and issues related to highways operations and management information and administrative processes required to support service delivery.
  • have good verbal and written communication skills organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work. You also have good IT skills including the use of specific highways software such as Confirm or resource allocation software.
  • are willing to be flexible learn and undertake a variety of different tasks are able to work to tight timescales under pressure and to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

You must also have an understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities and the ability to apply this to all situations.
