Our 4 veterinarians and support team are dedicated to providing quality care and great experience for pets and pet owners in our community. As a Veterinary Assistant youll play an important role in pets lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests to support services including admitting and discharging patients.
Role Responsibilities:
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care advocate for pets and educate clients during outpatient appointments.
- With each hospital functionassistveterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity andmaintainpositive patient flow.
- Obtain pertinent health history and information from clients andmaintainmedical charts.
- Assistinmaintainingrelevant comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
- Perform basic nursing skills such as taking vital signs performing nail trims anal gland expression venipuncture and administering injections.
- Use safe restraining techniques follow standard protocols and sustain clean sterile organized treatment areas exam rooms and labs.
- Prepare patients medications and equipment for examination.
- Prepare patient lab samples for in-house and reference lab diagnostic screening.
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns.
- Be willing to guide mentor and support fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to enter medical notes and maintain medical records; can type 45 wpm minimally.
- Able to lift 40lbs unassisted.
- Strong desire to practice empathetic gold standard medicine benefiting our patients through all life stages.
- Positive kind and provide trustworthy communication to patients team members and clients.
- Have the desire to constantly grow and advance as a valued team member!
Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of two years experience as a veterinary assistant in an animal care are open Mon-Fri 7am-5:30pm Sat 7am-1pm. A typical work week consists of five 8-hour shifts which include rotating Saturdays.

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate of$21- $23 /hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills qualifications experience and location.
