Pharmacy Clerk General Description
This position is responsible for providing patients with friendly efficient and timely delivery of prescribed medications. This position involves greeting customers at the pharmacy front counter ringing up their purchases and participating in pharmacy delivery services.

Pharmacy Clerk Essential Duties
- Provide a positive impression through words and tone to patients and employees presenting to the pharmacy area.
- Complete pharmacy delivery duties including:
- Transport and deliver medication to patients in a safe and secure manner;
- Report status and any problems to Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist on duty;
- Plan and navigate their own delivery routes using the pharmacy delivery app per policy and procedure;
- Obtain payment and proof of delivery through use of pharmacy delivery app per policy and procedure;
- Operate vehicle safely per traffic laws.
- Operate cash register handle cash and other payment forms.
- Answer telephone respond to questions and requests from patients.
- Assist with inventory auditing process.
- Be able to answer general pricing questions.
- Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Pharmacy Clerk Skills Required
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff patients and the public.
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules.
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate with staff patients insurance companies and vendors.
- Ability to work well under pressure manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
- Effective and efficient time management including arriving to work prepared and on-time and timely completion of work.
- Computer literacy and ability to read and comprehend written information.
Pharmacy Clerk Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Valid Kansas Drivers license
- Current auto insurance
- 1-2 years of experience preferred but not required;
- Social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patient and employee base.
