Washburn Center has an opening for a full time School Based Therapist in Columbia Heights. This position will provide mental health assessment and treatment services to children and families in English and Spanish.

What is School Based Therapy at Washburn

Our compassionate experienced therapists support children and their families through challenging times by offering individual therapy to help with a wide range of concerns including school adjustment problems depression anxiety difficulty dealing with loss or family changes abuse traumatic events attention problems parent-child conflicts and acting-out behaviors. Our counseling focuses on building on a childs strengths and supporting them in gaining skills to be successful at home in school and in the community.

As a school-based mental health clinician you focus will be on assessment treatment and prevention services to children and their families as well as consultation and training for the school staff at Columbia Heights Elementary School.

As a successful candidate you should hold independent Licensure at LICSW LPCC LP or LMFT and be able to demonstrate your skill in childrens mental health diagnostic assessment and treatment.

Position summary

Provide school-based mental health assessment treatment and prevention services to children and families aswell as consultation and training for school staff through collaborative program within Columbia Heights Middle School. Provide both direct billable services and non-billable training consultation and earlyintervention/prevention services. Participate in meetings data collection and coordination related to theprogram with Washburn Center and school staff and coordinators. Independent Licensure at LICSW LPCC LPor LMFT required. Skilled in childrens mental health diagnostic assessment and treatment

Role responsibilities:

Clinical Treatment - Clinicians will provide a combination of the following school-based services within theschool clients homes and across the community as agreed upon with the school staff and the WashburnCenter supervisor including:

* Conduct diagnostic assessments

* Develop and implement a treatment plan with the family based on a diagnosis

* Provide individual and family therapy

* Participate in IEP meetings

* Care coordination including collaboration with psychiatrists and other professionals working with thechild

* Create a discharge plan

***All school-based clinicians will be expected to maintain monthly services consistent with budgeted quotaexpectations an average of 15 billable sessions per week.

Ancillary Services - Clinicians will also provide ancillary services as agreed upon with the school staff and theWashburn Center supervisor including:

* Conduct child group therapy skills training and/or prevention groups

* Provide care coordination including collaboration with parents school staff and other agencies

* Participate in classroom observations

* Provide teacher consultation and training

* Attend collaboration and planning meetings with school staff program directors and grant coordinators

to review the status of the program and manage referrals in order to facilitate program development

and the coordination of the program at the school

Documentation - Clinicians will be expected to maintain required documentation as specified in our ClinicalPolicy Manual including:

* Diagnostics assessments

* Treatment plan for each client

* Daily progress notes

* Completion of screening instruments (SDQ) and any other required outcome instruments

* Discharge summaries

* Timely record keeping of all clinical activities and grant related services as defined

* Timely response of communications from the program director the supervisor or program support toensure clear communication throughout the program

All clinicians are to ensure Minnesota and HIPAA data privacy requirements are followed.

Supervision and Professional Development - Clinicians are expected to:

* Attend weekly supervision and team meetings present case information and formulation and identifyquestions for team meetings and supervision

* Receive regular clinical supervision as required under Rule 29

* Provide clinical and administrative supervision for interns as approved by the program supervisor basedon licensure and experience and assist with providing training feedback and learning experience forprogram interns

* Maintain required CEUs

Qualifications

Masters degree in psychology marriage and family therapy or social work required
A minimum of 3 years assessing diagnosing and treating children and families required
Valid MN Licensure as a Mental Health Professional
Bilingual (Fluency in English and Spanish)

$60000 - $75000 a year

Vacation: Paid Vacation accrues at 10 hours of vacation per month - up to 15 days / 120 hours annually.

Sick Leave: Paid sick leave accrues at 6.68 hours of sick per month - up to 10 days / 80 hours.

Holidays: There are 2.5 days/20 hours of floating holidays per year in addition to the eight standard holidays.
