JOB OVERVIEW:
Senior Quality Control Technician helps ensure the products we produce are of the highest quality and ensure continued compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies. Responsibilities also include in-line checks quality equipment calibrations performing quality testing and assessments communicating quality issues and maintaining quality area cleanliness.
This resource also enables the reduction of food safety incidents and non-quality costs by the immediate escalation of any out-of-conformance condition detected during verification addition this role supports the maintenance of quality knowledge and skills required in operation associates for the proper execution of quality control protocols and proper documentation and record keeping.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Quality Management Team in maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory inspection agencies including the FDA and BRC.
- Monitor policy compliance in all the facilitys production processes through reoccurring walk-through inspections and when necessary produce policy deviation reports.
- Conduct environmental swabbing and post-operational allergen cleaning verifications.
- Support risk analysis efforts for incoming ingredients new equipment and processes by analyzing risk assessment results and distributing the resulting reports.
- Assist the Plant Quality Manager in investigating the root cause of production non-conformances and help to develop corrective actions.
- Monitor audit results and work with our Production Operations team to implement Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Be part of the Food Safety/ HACCP team and Internal Auditors group to support the quality and food safety continuous improvement program and CAPAs execution.
- Identify RFT (Right First Time) opportunities and measure cost savings because of implemented process improvements.
- Represent Quality during Regulatory 3rd Party and Customer Audits for respective plants.
- Help to monitor pest control issues and 3rd party companies.
- Conduct Plant walk/multi-disciplinary inspections.
- Help review improve and implement quality-related Standard Operating Procedures
- Recommend procedures to ensure sanitary conditions at the facility.
- Monitor production to evaluate food sanitation and safety concerns.
- Monitor plant sanitation chemicals and perform/document titrations.
- Conduct periodic facility checks such as glass audits thermometer calibrations and scale checks.
- Monitor food defense at the facility level and report deviations directly to the Plant Quality Manager
- Review and update quality-related documentation including production process flow charts.
- Mitigate pest control issues at the facility.
- Data entry and record keeping of Master Cleaning Schedule equipment cleaning verifications swab result records and foreign materials records.
- Communicate and partner with plant management and production workers to increase food safety /quality programs or resolve any ongoing issues or non-conformances.
- An employee in this job must be thorough in maintaining records of their work and willing to communicate all relevant information to the Plant Quality Manager
- Must be able to perform all functions of a Quality technician and support Quality technologist if needed.
- All other tasks duties and responsibilities assigned by the Plant Quality Manager.
JOB EXPERIENCE:
3 years of Quality (QC or QA) experience in a food beverage or dietary supplement manufacturing environment
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Ability and willingness to learn quality-related concepts and compliance requirements and train additional team members as a Subject Matter Expert.
- Confidence to advocate for quality compliance and drive appropriate resolutions and/or escalate concerns when identified.
- Takes initiative and is self-directed can work independently and holds themselves responsible for ensuring the delivery of the highest possible quality control.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices & Standard Operating Procedures.
- HAACP experience and PCQI certification a plus.
- Experience performing audits of basic records and reports and inspections of routine processes to assure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements international standards and corporate policies and procedures preferred.
- Effectively communicate Process Improvement and Change Management initiatives to the quality team in a manner that fosters a healthy team atmosphere.
- Experience in MS Office including Word Excel SharePoint and Visio.
- Basic Analytical skills pertaining to manufacturing and laboratory activities.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors Degree in a related field (Food Science Chemistry Microbiology and/or Biochemistry) preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- The employee must be willing and able to attend and qualify for all required Quality and Food Safety Training both inside and outside the Company.

- Expected Pay Range: $25.56 - $28.62
- Bonus: This role may further qualify for supplemental compensation in the form of bonus and incentive programs contingent upon achieving pre-established individual and company performance metrics.
