Job Description

POSITION: Content Lead Teacher - Art PreK-4 QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree and content certification requiredREPORTS TO: Building Principals and the Director of Curriculum and Instruction RESPONSIBILITIES:Under the direction of the Building Principals and the Director of Curriculum and Instruction the lead teacher shall:Provide leadership with the implementation coordination and organization of the Grades PreK-4 Art Department with administrators regarding departmental teachers questions and/or concerns regarding program PLCs departmental meetings and coordinate activities among teachers in the PreK-4 Art with the Building Principals and Director of Curriculum and Instruction to make specific recommendations regarding implementation of Art programs including specific recommendations for instructional the development articulation and implementation of departmental curriculum objectives and in orienting new teachers in the department and assist in assigning mentors to new teachersRecommend equipment and materials in sufficient quantity to encourage optimal learning conditions for students; prepare a budget to order these materials and the administration in the placement of student training for members of the department as may be necessary and assist in the content specific activities and goals in developing Educator Plans Directed Growth Plans and Improvement Plans with content specific meetings outside of the regular work day as be directed to play a role in interviewing candidates for teaching any other duties that may be assigned by the Principal or the Director of Curriculum and OF EMPLOYMENTMust be available after the school day Part-time employmentSALARYStipend in Accordance with the Unit A ContractDATES OF EMPLOYMENTStart Date: Immediately End Date: June 30 2025 EVALUATIONPerformance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield School Committees policy on evaluation.
