Job Scope: Provide clinical and administrative supervision to a team of clinicians peer support specialists and others providing a safe place to go during crisis. Living Rooms embrace the Recovery Model and offer people experiencing mental health crises a calm and safe environment. The community outpatient centers are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week and people receive care immediately. This supervisory role actively contributes as a clinician in a setting that specifically responds to the needs of individuals in crisis in need of a safe place to relax and receive resources and referrals to resources. Engage clients in an opportunity to create a personal crisis safety plan. Provide coverage for team when the Manager of Living Room is absent. The Living Room will eventually operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide recovery-based crisis management strategies including exit/ follow-up services
  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with other social service organizations and local first responders to secure a warm hand off of clients
  • Be able to provide coverage for initial screening and mental health assessments that identify service needs and recommend options for care
  • Share assessment findings with clients
  • Involve client in the development of treatment plan goals objectives and interventions that address their assessed behavioral health needs
  • Provide case management services to assist clients and their families with access to needed benefits and services
  • Provide coordinated care by initiating or participating in client centered consultation with internal and external providers involved in care or services
  • Reassess and review treatment progress with clients and their families at proscribed intervals
  • Assist in establishing effective communication between the Center other social agencies serving clients and the community
  • Provide administrative and clinical supervision to full time
  • Outpatient Crisis therapists including clinical direction and assistance with treatment planning and service delivery
  • Provide performance evaluation for full-time supervisees building on strengths and identifying ongoing growth/training needs.
Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works in an office setting and on The Living Room Milieu
  • Will occasionally be required to drive and attend meetings training and around the catchment area
  • May be exposed to varying home conditions
Travel Requirements
  • Will be required to drive as frequently as daily for meetings.
Minimum Position Requirements
  • Must meet requirements as a designated QMHP in the state of Illinois.
  • Experience as a peer support or working/supervising peer supports is preferred.
  • Masters degree from an accredited college or University in Social Work Psychology or related discipline required.
  • Prefer Illinois LCPC/LCSW or equivalent that meets IL Rule 132/140 LPHA designation
  • Knowledge of crisis services systems and experience is preferred.
  • Must have two years of demonstrated ability to provide clinical and administrative supervision
  • Basic computer proficiency knowledge of Word and internet skills
Schedule
  • Full Time Exempt 37.5 hours per week
  • Must be prepared to work a flexible schedule in response to the needs of the target population served including evenings and weekends
