Clarke University is seeking a dependable and hardworking Evening Dining Hall Custodian / Dish Room Attendant to join our Dining Services team. This role plays a key part in maintaining a clean sanitary and welcoming environment for students staff and guests during dinner service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize dishware utensils trays pots and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of dish room and kitchen areas including sweeping and mopping floors
- Empty trash and recycling and replace liners as needed
- Wipe down and sanitize dining hall tables counters and other surfaces
- Restock cleaning supplies and report maintenance needs
- Assist in closing and securing the dish room and dining area at end of shift
- Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g. ServSafe standards)
- Support other dining operations as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in food service janitorial or custodial work is a plus
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. stand for long periods and work in a hot fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness detail and safety
- Dependable punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Availability to work evening shifts weekends and occasional holidays
