GDS Tax Technology
Position
EYs GDS Tax Technology teams mission is to develop implement and integrate technology solutions that better serve our clients and engagement teams. As a member of EYs core Tax practice youll develop a deep tax technical knowledge and outstanding ERP database data analytics and programming skills.
Ever-increasing regulations require tax departments to gather organize and analyse more data than ever before. Often the data necessary to satisfy these ever-increasing and complex regulations must be collected from a variety of systems and departments throughout an organization. Effectively and efficiently handling the variety and volume of data is often extremely challenging and time consuming for a company.
EYs GDS Tax Technology team members work side-by-side with the firms partners clients and tax technical subject matter experts to develop and incorporate technology solutions that enhance value-add improve efficiencies and enable our clients with disruptive and market leading tools supporting Tax.
GDS Tax Technology works closely with clients and professionals in the following areas: Federal Business Tax Services Partnership Compliance Corporate Compliance Indirect Tax Services Human Capital and Internal Tax Services. GDS Tax Technology provides solution architecture application development testing and maintenance support to the global TAX service line both on a pro-active basis and in response to specific requests.
Tax Technology and Transformation offers services to companies in response to the impact of existing and emerging technology including the growing data burden that many businesses face driving efficiencies to create a cost-effective tax function and the need to understand how to make data an asset. The underlying objective of the combined offerings is to help businesses navigate the digital age of tax transparency alongside new trends in tax compliance and tax audit methods as well as helping to solve the most pressing challenges that businesses face. Tax Technology and Transformation is composed of the following services:
- Digital tax transformation
- SAP Tax Integration
- Tax applications-as-a-service
- Emerging tax technology including robotic process automation (RPA) artificial intelligence (AI) blockchain cloud solutions data lake development and business intelligence innovation
- Tax technology program mobilization
- Tax technology strategy and road mapping
- Direct and indirect tax systems implementation and
- Tax function assessments

Your key responsibilities
You will be working on large finance/tax transformations helping our clients leverage SAP to improve the tax function by supporting and automating internal and external operations of multinational tax departments. You will contribute and help toward developing a highly trained team all the while handling activities with a focus on quality and commercial value. This is a highly regulated industry so it is all about maintaining our reputation as trusted advisors by taking on bold initiatives and owning new challenges.
Skills and attributes for success
- Delivering large projects/programs related to SAP implementations and transformations
- Ability to understand key tax processes and translate those requirements into SAP
- Work collaboratively with cross functional tax advisory and assurance teams

To qualify for the role you must have
- A bachelors degree in Information Systems and/or a masters degree in Accounting Tax Technology Management Information Systems or Computer Science or related field and
- Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional client-serving consulting skills
- Demonstrated ability to capture and synthesize business requirements
- Ability to lead a team mentor counselees and manage client-serving business
- Demonstrated ability to successfully sell and deliver large enterprise programs
- Broad understanding of tax accounting and major tax processes
Ideally youll also have
- Experience implementing third-party direct or indirect tax systems (such as ONESOURCE CorpTax Vertex Avalara Longview etc.)
- Experience defining data and reporting needs for a tax department
- ERP experience including SAP and/or Oracle
- Experience managing large multidisciplinary projects that impact tax (e.g. ERP implementations tax co-sourcing engagements finance transformations)
