The ideal candidate will hold DESE licensure in Moderate and/or Severe Special Needs. This positionrequires academic interpersonal and organizational skills. This candidate should be familiar with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and should possess an ability to modify curriculum to meet the academic needs of students. This position requires an individual who can collaborate with staff and who is reflective of their teaching practice. LIFE SKILLS Program Teacher- Special Education program for students with medical needs Curriculum Instruction and Assessment & Teaching All StudentsOrganize instruction around essential questions or core learning objectives; teach for understanding and/or mastery; provide students with practice and extension opportunities as assessments based on each individual student plan. This may require developing alternative assessments. Create a classroom learning environment that is engaging orderly secure and appealing for students and in which mutual respect is practicedDevelop MCAS Alt Portfolios Family and Community EngagementBuild a partnership with families encouraging their active participation in students learning. Communicate student progress and development to parents/guardians Professional CultureWork collaboratively with general education teachers grade-level teams and other staff to plan share student work and ensure that instruction is aligned with identified curriculum and standards.
