About the role
We are seeking a talented and driven Android Mobile App Developer with 35 years of hands-on experience in designing developing and maintaining Android applications. The ideal candidate is proficient with Kotlin and/or Java has a strong grasp of Android SDKs and has delivered multiple apps to points if you have worked on applications that integrate with IoT devices such as smart home systems wearables or Bluetooth-enabled hardware.
What you will do
- Design develop and maintain high-performance Android applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design and ship new features.
- Ensure performance quality and responsiveness of applications.
- Work with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
- Troubleshoot and fix bugs optimize performance and enhance user experience.
- Write clean maintainable and testable code following best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and team knowledge-sharing sessions.
- If applicable integrate mobile apps with IoT devices using protocols such as BLE MQTT or Wi-Fi.
Who you are and What you bring
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
- 35 years of experience in Android application development.
- Proficient in Kotlin and/or Java.
- Solid understanding of Android SDK UI design principles and architecture components (MVVM LiveData ViewModel etc.).
- Experience with third-party libraries APIs and version control (e.g. Git).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins GitHub.
- Experience publishing apps to the Google Play Store.
- Experience working with IoT platforms and protocols (e.g. BLE MQTT).
- Familiarity with embedded systems or firmware communication from Android.
- Experience working with smart devices or home automation systems.
- Knowledge of security best practices in mobile and IoT applications.
- Prior experience with Android Jetpack Compose is a plus.
