Job Description
Job Title: X-Ray Technologist
Facility: St. Peters Hospital
Location: 315 S. Manning Blvd Albany NY 12208
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 11:00 PM 7:00 AM
Pay Rate: $68/hr (W2) $72/hr (1099)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced X-Ray Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team on the midnight shift. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills the ability to work independently and a commitment to delivering high-quality imaging services for emergency inpatient and surgical patients.
Youll be working with Shimadzu radiographic equipment alongside another technologist supporting a busy hospital environment with a focus on accuracy safety and compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures for ER inpatient and OR patients according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Operate Shimadzu imaging equipment with expertise ensuring optimal image quality and minimal patient discomfort.
- Prepare and position patients accurately using protective shielding and following all radiation safety guidelines.
- Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and work with providers to ensure necessary follow-up.
- Maintain accurate patient records in the imaging system.
- Collaborate with radiologists physicians and other healthcare team members to provide timely imaging services.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and ensure proper equipment care.
Required Qualifications
- Current New York State Radiologic Technologist License.
- ARRT (R) certification.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Minimum 2 years of diagnostic radiology experience with ER/inpatient/OR exposure preferred.
- Proficiency with Shimadzu equipment strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Shift: Sunday Thursday 11:00 PM 7:00 AM.
- Holidays: Required if a holiday falls within the scheduled workdays.
- No on-call requirements.
- Collaborative team environment with another technologist on shift.
