Position Summary:

North Pointe Surgery Center (NPSC) is excited to introduce a newly created leadership opportunity: Anesthesia Revenue Cycle Manager (ARCM). In this pivotal role the ARCM will lead the financial operations for our anesthesia services driving accuracy compliance and performance across billing coding collections and reporting.

As a strategic partner in our mission of delivering exceptional patient care the ARCM will collaborate across departments to streamline processes enhance revenue cycle efficiency and strengthen financial outcomes. With a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence this role is key to ensuring both fiscal integrity and long-term sustainability for our anesthesia services.

Responsibilities:

Revenue Cycle Leadership

  • Oversee the entire anesthesia revenue cycle process including benefit verification charge entry coding claims submission denial management payment posting and patient account resolution.

  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable ensuring timely collection of payments and achievement of A/R performance targets.

  • Lead process improvements to reduce revenue leakage improve first-pass claim rates and accelerate cash flow.

Compliance & Industry Standards

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal state and commercial payer billing regulations including Medicare and Medicaid rules.

  • Stay current with anesthesia-specific coding and billing requirements and serve as the internal expert on related revenue cycle matters.

  • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and all data privacy and security standards.

Cross Department Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with the Administrative Director and Business Office Manager to assign priorities manage projects and align efforts across teams.

  • Collaborate with clinical staff front desk and patient access teams to ensure accuracy in patient registration and documentation that supports clean claims.

  • Coordinate with external vendors and auditors as needed to optimize billing performance and maintain transparency.

Reporting & Strategic Insight

  • Prepare and present timely reports on A/R status denial trends payer performance and other key revenue cycle KPIs to senior leadership.

  • Analyze data to identify trends forecast performance and recommend corrective actions or enhancements.

  • Contribute to strategic planning initiatives by offering insights that align with the centers financial goals and patient-first mission.

  • Complete dashboard for MOR with key performance indicators (KPIs) for Anesthesia RCM.

    • Make recommendations to senior management of NPSC on all charges to database and pricing to enhance efficiency and revenue.

    • Coordination and communication biweekly with NPSC Accounting.

    • Assists leadership with monthly case costing; revenue per case; contractual versus net expenses.

    • Other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma/GED is required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing with at least 3 years focused on anesthesia or surgical billing.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in managing A/R and leading revenue cycle performance improvements is required.

  • A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience and a demonstrated ability to train mentor and develop team members is required.

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Epic EMR and familiarity with reporting tools and billing systems is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration Accounting Finance or a related field strongly preferred.

  • Five (5) years of experience in managing A/R and leading revenue cycle performance improvement projects.

  • Strong working knowledge of CPT ICD-10 and anesthesia-specific billing guidelines.

  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.

  • Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets with the ability to create and interpret financial and operational reports.

  • Effective communicator and collaborator capable of working cross-functionally with both clinical and non-clinical teams.

  • A systems thinker who thrives on building processes from the ground up and delivering sustainable results.

  • Professional Certification in any of the following is preferred:

    • Certified Anesthesia and Pain Management Coder (CANPC) AAPC

    • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) AAPC

    • Certified Professional Coder- Anesthesia Coding Specialty Credential (CPC-A) AAPC

    • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) HFMA

    • Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCP) HFMA

    • Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS) AAHAM
