Summary:
The Strategic Buyer & Catalog Specialist is charged with merchandise sourcing at a catalog and program level catalog creation order placement and special initiatives and projects as they present themselves.
Youll spend your days on the following:
- Maintain relationships with industry manufacturer reps and other open market suppliers
- Review select and contract merchandise from suppliers based on several objectives including award mix profitability price points rebates advertising allowances target market and audience demographics
- Focused negotiations on pricing
- Establish target pricing and profitability by item and category for review and approval with Manager
- Establish and document processes including item return & substitution protocol and manage process with internal team
- Source present build and manage curated lists
- Source secure and order personal orders
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Four-year degree from accredited institution
- 2 years of experience as a Strategic Buyer & Catalog Specialistor related role
- Strong communications skills and ability to interact with non-technical and technical people
- International shipping and customs requirements knowledge (preferred)
- Strong negotiating skills
- Strong quality assurance skills/attention to detail
- Up-to-date knowledge of market pricing MSRP etc.
- Functional understanding of Augeos recognition technology platforms
- Microsoft Suite proficiency
