Job Summary

The Forklift Operator/Loader will be responsible for moving products around the warehouse and onto trailers safely using a sit-down forklift. The operator needs to have knowledge of weight distribution and effectively load products onto trucks in preparation for delivery. The operator is also responsible for creating load maps and taking pictures of finished loads prior to transport.

We are looking for a Forklift Operator/Loader on our First Shift at our Zeeland MI warehouse.

Schedule: M-F 5 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Pay: $19/hr.

Essential Responsibilities

Operate a Forklift to move products and pallets safely throughout the warehouse
Ensure orders are accurate and communicate any discrepancies product issues or safety issues with the Supervisor
Stage and place orders on the trailer to best utilize space and maintain proper weight distribution throughout the trailer for drivers to deliver product
Ensures company documentation of loading trailer is accurate and complete
Secures or assists in securing the loads onto the trailers and closing the curtains.
Successfully passes all Novo forklift training and operates a forklift following all safety requirements established within Novo
May assist in keeping floors clean and dry with the use of a floor scrubber
Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required)

Effectively perform all essential functions including physical requirements
Ability to move awkward product lengths and weights
Experience with operating a forklift with a rate rating of 6500 pounds
Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company-approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment
Basic math interpersonal/team and reasoning skills
Ability to read understand and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.
Must be 18 years of age or older
Flexibility in scheduling able to work overtime as needed
Use of proper PPE and company-approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment
Experience with flatbeds curtain sides and Conestogas
Minimum one year of experience operating a forklift
High School Diploma or GED
