Navigator Recruiting client is a fast-growing 100-employee financial services company with $1B AUM and multiple entities and offices in several states. Established in 1980 the firm has long-valued educating clients in ways to preserve and build their wealth. The company itself has grown by 37% over the last three years and plans to continue growing. For this reason the firm is seeking to hire a Controller a newly created role to help lead the growing finance operations report to the CFO and be a part of the Accounting team - who include the CFO (a CPA/MBA) and two Accountants - all in the DTC office. This position reports plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting strong internal controls and strategic business insight to support company growth.

This is afull-time in-office positionbased in our Denver Tech Center (DTC) office. Hours are typically Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with some overtime possible at busier times.

NOTE:Only people who are currently living in Denver will be considered for this role.

Responsibilities:

Oversee daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable (AP) Accounts Receivable (AR) and month-end close.
Manage and mentor the Senior Accountant and Staff Accountant.
Prepare and review financial statements balance sheets and cash flow reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Manage the companys cash position including daily cash reporting and a rolling 13-week forecast.
Support annual budgeting forecasting and monthly variance analysis in partnership with department leaders.
Maintain and improve internal controls accounting policies and compliance procedures.
Partner with auditors and tax professionals to ensure accurate and timely filings.
Lead process improvements automation projects and system upgrades to enhance efficiency.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Accounting required; Advanced degree and/or CPA is preferred but not required.
7 years of progressive accounting experience (somefinancial services / advisory/ wealth management industry experience is helpful).
3 years management and leadership experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP financial reporting and internal controls.
Highly analytical organized and collaborative with strong communication skills.
Financial analytics and strategic decision-making experience.
QB Desktop experience.
MS Excel mastery level experience.
Multi-entity accounting experience andmergers and acquisitions (M&A) experience are both helpful.
HR payroll and benefit administration experience (using ADP for example) and Fathom software experiencearehelpful.
