MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates with a strong mix of the attributes listed in the above Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) are desired. Candidates may demonstrate competency in the KSAs through experience formal education (including certificates credentials or degree-based programs) or a combination of both. Candidates may demonstrate competency in the KSAs through at least seven years experience formal education (including certificates credentials or degree-based programs) or a combination of the two. Candidates should clearly describe how their experience and education meets the identified KSAs and provide examples in their cover letter that demonstrate their qualifications.
Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
Experience: Seven years of directly qualifying experience in compliance program administration customer service or auditing.
Or
Education: Relevant bachelors degree in public administration business administration human services or a related field; and three year of compliance/regulation with specific emphasis in analytical and communication skills.

JOB DUTIES:
As a Business Compliance Specialist you will manage a compliance review case load in the areas of Wage and Hour Employment Verification Prevailing Wage Workers Compensation Contractor Registration Independent Contractor and other programs supported by ESD. Duties include reviewing employer business practices and conducting compliance reviews of records and business operations. Much of the work involves interpreting and determining the rights of parties arising under often disputed contractual issues involving oral and written employment agreements contracts and personnel policies.
