Position Summary
Were hiring an Advanced Quality Engineer to lead quality activities during new program launches and support ongoing manufacturing excellence. Youll drive continuous improvement ensure compliance with industry standards and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve internal and external quality issues. This role is hands-on decision-driven and central to delivering reliable high-performance products.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering
- Automotive industry experience
- Fluent in English; Spanish or German a plus
- Six Sigma or Shainin certification
Required Qualifications
- 35 years in quality engineering (automotive or manufacturing)
- ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 knowledge
- Proficient in GD&T PFMEA Control Plans and PPAP
- Skilled with metrology tools and quality systems
Position Overview
As an Advanced Quality Engineer youll take ownership of quality tasks during new program launches including capability analysis Safe Launch planning prototype builds and supplier approvals. Youll prepare and submit PPAPs to customers and lead problem-solving teams to address internal and external issues. Responsibilities also include evaluating process changes managing deviations and participating in design reviews and risk reduction activities.
Youll work directly with customers and collaborate closely with GKN operations mechanical and design engineering teams. Strong communication multitasking and time management skills are essential along with proficiency in tools like Minitab SAP and structured problem-solving methods (8D A3 Ishikawa 5Why QRQC).
Travel is limited to 23 short trips per year. This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced collaborative environment where your expertise will shape product quality and customer satisfaction.
