This position isover three trimesters with a total stipend of $6801.65.

The stipends are as follows:

  • Fall: $1943.33
  • Winter: $2914.99
  • Spring: $1943.33

Pandamonium Riverdales robotics team is looking for a new coach. This team has been growing steadily more successful and is well-established with consistent volunteers and stable funding. The previous coach is still with the district and is committed to helping provide a smooth transition for the incoming coach.

Work with an established and dedicated group of volunteer mentors to guide the Riverdale FRC Robotics team to competition.

A successful team needs well-chosen and well-prepared student captains a focused group of students willing to learn and teach each other sufficient funding quality mentorship and adequate meeting time to design build and test a robot during the Robotics Competition season.

A successful coach needs

  • The ability to maintain a safe working environment for everyone.
  • Excellent skills working with high school students.
  • The ability to support mentors in helping students without taking over.
  • The ability to organize the students and help them understand the scope and sequence of the project as well as reach important benchmarks along the way.
  • The ability to help students learn how to lead each other how to accept their mistakes and disappointments without giving up and how to find the ways they can contribute best.
  • The ability to work with the community to recruit mentors and helpers and secure needed finances.

This is a three-trimester position with activities generally divided as follows:

Fall (Preseason):

  • Recruit and train students
  • Recruit and organize mentors
  • Guide students in fundraising for the team
  • Register for the season
  • Organize tools and materials
  • Register for competitions

Winter (Build Season):

  • Learn the rules of the years game along with the rest of the team
  • Run meetings for building the robot and preparing for competition
  • Assure safety and request purchases for the team as needed
  • Work with mentors to guide students through the design-and-build process

Spring (Competition and Postseason):

  • Organize competitions
  • Guide students through the competitions
  • Celebrate the season
  • Conduct postseason cleanup
  • Evaluate finances and prepare for the next year

The stipends for the coach position are:

  • Fall:$1943.33 (based on the 2024-25 salary schedule)
  • Winter:$2914.99(based on the 2024-25 salary schedule)
  • Spring:$1943.33(based on the 2024-25 salary schedule)

Important: The district is currently negotiating a new contract with the Riverdale Teachers Association. Once a new contract is ratified the stipends listed above will be adjusted to reflect any updates to the salary schedule.
