Job Summary

Primary Job Functions:

  • Act as a liaison between various departments and company suppliers directing shipments to the correct location and arranging for timed deliveries.
  • Oversee and facilitate the smooth flow of work and materials within or among departments according to production or shipping schedules.
  • Expedite assigned purchase orders to ensure all requirements specified in the purchase order are accomplished.
  • Assist Accounts Payable in resolving invoice issues with suppliers.
  • Manage returns to suppliers due to quality issues and coordinate replacements.
  • Perform essential functions required by the job.

Secondary Job Functions:

  • Source vendors of material equipment or supplies determine product availability lead times pricing and payment terms
  • Prepare and process purchase orders for material equipment and supplies
  • Review purchase order claims for conformance to company policy
  • Ensure on-time delivery from all suppliers

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Proven experience as an Expeditor or similar role
  • Familiarity with purchasing components production processes quality control costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Experience in a production environment is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Office particularly Excel and familiar with inventory software
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands:

Hours: Mon-Fri 7:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. Week: 40 Hours Lunch: 1 hour

(Some overtime may be required with prior approval by management.)

Sitting: 90%

Standing & Walking: 10%
