Job Description

Position will be open until filled.

We are currently seeking:

An Operations System Analyst I to join our this role you will perform routine and complex administrative technical and analytical work in the support of the Citys Asset Management Software. This full-time position will assist City Department Heads and Division Managers in administering the Citys asset management software and in carrying out special projects providing a variety of analytical functions related to its application.


Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Assistance with the management and oversight of the Citys Asset Management Software.
  2. Working with internal departments and external partners in the configuration implementation training maintenance and troubleshooting of Asset Management Software.
  3. Performing a wide variety of research administrative and analytical duties in support of functions operations and program areas related to Asset Management Software applications.
  4. Performing duties in support of various administrative operations and activities within assigned area of responsibility including analysis of assets and infrastructure special projects research studies and other specialized functions.
  5. Preparing and submitting numerous reports to various internal departments.
  6. Maintaining management databases and dashboards used in capturing critical information on assets and infrastructure budget performance work and project statuses and work accountability.
  7. Assisting with routine and complex internal inquiries related to assets infrastructure and Asset Management Software management.
  8. Maintaining troubleshooting testing updating and/or upgrading computer software and mobile applications.
  9. Conducting a variety of file storage functions; maintaining computer system files; monitoring system capacity and file size; deleting obsolete files as necessary.
  10. Reviewing technical logs; monitoring computer software for proper functioning.
  11. Diagnosing and troubleshooting a variety of technical systems issues.
  12. Responding to technical inquiries and requests from departmental management and personnel.
  13. Providing systems support and training to end users.
  14. Compiling and analyzing statistical data; creating specialized reports as required
  15. Assisting in coordinating and implementing technology projects.
  16. Follow written and oral instructions departmental policies rules regulations and laws.
  17. Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Analytical and Problem Solving to identify issues and develop effective solutions
  • Extracting data creating and analyzing reports.
  • Office Software: Word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Preparing programs presentations reports and end user training materials
  • Organizing and prioritizing work activity.
  • Efficiently accomplishing assigned tasks and projects.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees supervisors and other departments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Information Technology Data Analytics Computer Science or related field and one to three years of analytical experience is required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in related field. Additional familiarity with Finance Accounting Business Management Local Government or similar disciplines preferred.


Required Licenses or Certifications:

  • A valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record is required.
  • Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.

Required Knowledge of:

  • Asset Management CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and Work Order System configuration management budgeting principles operation and application.
  • Computers mobile devices and electronic data processing.
  • Modern records management techniques office practices and procedures.

Preferred Knowledge of:

  • Departmental operations relative to Public Works.
  • SQL and database management principles and best practices.
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other software associated with Asset Management

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment.
  • Subject to sitting standing walking bending reaching and lifting of objects up to 20 pounds.
