About the role

This role contributes to the success of the City by ensuring Hobarts parks and reserves are maintained to a high standard providing clean and safe amenities for the community. The Field Officer (Weekend & Public Holidays Roster) undertakes routine asset maintenance supports public events and responds to community queries and operational needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning and preparing park and bushland facilities.
  • Updating booking information for public amenities.
  • Assisting with event preparation (e.g. Cenotaph).
  • Responding to public queries and Duty Officer requests.
  • Ensuring safety and compliance with WHS legislation and Council policies.
  • Working autonomously on weekends and public holidays.

About you

You are a reliable and community-minded individual with a passion for maintaining public spaces. You bring practical experience in park asset maintenance operate small machinery safely and adapt easily to changing tasks. You value teamwork demonstrate strong customer service skills and uphold the City of Hobarts behavioural standards.
