Job Description
Job Title: Stroke Consultant (Substantive)
Location: Derby
Contract Type: Substantive Consultant or Fixed Term Contract (Negotiable Pay Rate)
Note: These vacancies are for fixed term and substantive recruitment only. Locums (hourly rate doctors) will not be considered.
Tasks
- Provide expert clinical care to stroke patients
- Participate in the acute stroke rota and ward rounds
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Contribute to service development teaching and training of junior staff
- Maintain high standards of clinical documentation and patient safety
- Engage in audit quality improvement and research activities related to stroke care
Requirements
- Possession of MRCP (Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians)
- Clinical experience in Stroke Medicine
- Additional experience in Acute Medicine General Medicine Neurology or Geriatrics
- Previous work in an NHS or UK hospital setting
