Job Description
Histology Associate (1st or 2nd Shift)
Location: Tucson AZ
Duration: 1 year extendable
This is an essential position supporting the organizational goals requiring attendance on weekends holidays and during emergency or exceptional conditions.
Summary: Supports the functions of RTD histology laboratories in the performance of routine histotechniques.
- Demonstrates foundational histotechniques of embedding microtomy coverslipping processing and primary staining.
- Operates laboratory or manufacturing equipment.
- Receives detailed directions on all work. Follows standard operating procedures.
- Monitors and prepares bulk reagents.
- May assist in preparation work for moderately complex techniques under the direction of more senior histology technicians.
MUST-HAVE Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- 1 year of Directly related histology experience
- Experience with foundational histotechniques of embedding microtomy coverslipping processing and primary staining.
- Experience with operating laboratory or manufacturing equipment
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing and laboratory techniques
- Skilled use of word processing and email. Experience with Google products (gMail gSheets gDoc etc) preferred.
- Experience with SAP required
- Physical conditions and PPE requirements:
- Required to stand walk sit kneel bend crouch for a combined 4 or more hours per day.
- Required to push pull and lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Repetitive consistent movements of the wrists hands and/or fingers.
- Required to have good near visual acuity to perform activities throughout the processes in the assigned area
