Senior Oracle Database Administrator OCI Exadata & Golden Gate
Location: Remote (with occasional travel to Grapevine probably 1 day per week)

Position Overview
We are seeking a very senior-level Oracle Database Administrator who is 100% hands-on and highly skilled in enterprise-scale database architecture performance tuning and replication. This role will be central to building our new Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environment and migrating our Oracle database platform to OCI and Exadata.
In the first six months approximately 50% of your time will focus on Oracle Golden Gate-designing configuring and optimizing replication for the migration. The remainder will involve OCI architecture build-out database performance optimization and high availability planning with Data Guard.
While this is a hands-on technical role the ideal candidate will bring executive-level technical leadership able to influence architecture decisions and set best practices across the environment. WebLogic experience is also a plus.

Key Responsibilities
Migration & Build-Out Focus (First 6 Months)
Lead the design build and configuration of the OCI environment for Oracle workloads.
Oversee the migration of existing Oracle databases to OCI and Exadata.
Configure optimize and maintain Golden Gate for real-time replication during migration.
Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure a secure scalable and highly available architecture.
Core DBA Responsibilities (Ongoing)
Install configure and maintain Oracle databases in OCI and Exadata environments.
Design implement and manage Data Guard for high availability and disaster recovery.
Perform performance tuning capacity planning patching and upgrades.
Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies to meet strict RTO/RPO objectives.
Additional Duties
Partner with development and application teams to ensure optimal integration.
Support middleware/database integration with WebLogic (preferred).
Ensure compliance with security standards audit requirements and regulatory guidelines.
Document architecture migration steps and operational procedures.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
o Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or related field.
o 10 years of Oracle DBA experience with deep experience in enterprise migrations.
o Proven hands-on expertise with OCI Exadata Data Guard and Golden Gate.
o WebLogic experience strongly preferred but not required.
Skills & Knowledge
o Expert in replication HA/DR and performance optimization.
o Strong migration planning and execution skills.
o Ability to work independently while setting and enforcing technical standards.
