Job Description
The Contracted ER Physician will provide comprehensive emergency medical care including patient assessment diagnosis treatment and procedures for the entire period of performance. Services will be delivered in compliance with Indian Health Service (I.H.S.) standards CMS requirements and facility protocols.

Interview examine and review patients medical histories; order and interpret diagnostic tests.

Provide medical or surgical treatment referrals and both emergent and non-emergent procedures within granted privileges.

Supervise CRNAs in anesthesia administration when an anesthesiologist is unavailable.

Counsel and educate patients families and community members on health care matters.

Prescribe medications and tests in accordance with the I.H.S. formulary and pharmacy guidelines.

Participate in quality assurance activities and maintain high standards of emergency medical care.

Comply with infection control safety procedures CMS standards and patient rights requirements.
Qualifications:

MD or DO board-certified/eligible in Emergency Medicine or equivalent.

Current unrestricted medical license and DEA registration.

Current BLS ACLS and PALS certifications; ATLS preferred.

Familiarity with I.H.S. policies and formulary use preferred.
