The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is seeking a full-time Fabricator to apply their varied knowledge and skills-with woodworking principles at the core-towards the prototyping fabrication and production of a variety of exhibit components in support of delivering high quality interactive exhibits and experiences. This position is expected to run October 1 2025 to May 31 2026 with the possibility of extension dependent on confirmed projects and VP approval.
Qualified candidates will have but not limited to:
- 3 years experience in a shop environment or similar production house
- Demonstrated knowledge of finish carpentry/cabinet-making skills/woodworking
- Ability to work safely and an understanding of shop safety protocols
- Ability to produce quality products in a production environment
- Ability to work on multiple projects in different phases of development
- Ability to model and support a positive team dynamic with people from diverse talents and backgrounds with an emphasis on team-based collaboration and product evaluation
The Fabricator has an hourly pay of $26.97 and is eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes:
