ePeople is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and forward-thinking accounting practice for an experienced Audit Senior to join their Bristol team. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work from home while attending client audits team meetings and occasional visits to the firm s London headquarters.
The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified (or finalist) with a strong background in external audit excellent client management skills and a passion for delivering high-quality assurance services.
Audit Planning & Execution
- Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion for a diverse portfolio of clients including SMEs owner-managed businesses and larger corporates.
- Ensure audits are conducted in compliance with UK auditing standards and firm policies.
Client Management
- Act as the main point of contact for clients during audits building strong professional relationships.
- Deliver audit findings and recommendations in a clear professional manner.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise junior staff during audit assignments providing guidance support and on-the-job training.
- Review work completed by the team ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Technical & Compliance Duties
- Keep up to date with technical developments in accounting and auditing standards.
- Prepare high-quality working papers and audit files ready for manager or partner review.
Collaboration
- Work closely with other departments including tax and advisory to provide a seamless client service.
- Attend team briefings training and strategic meetings both in Bristol and occasionally in London.
Requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or finalist with significant audit experience).
- Minimum of 4 years experience in external audit within an accounting practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP FRS 102 and UK auditing standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior team members.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in audit and accounting software (e.g. CaseWare CCH or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.

ATT qualified and/or CTA qualified or part-qualified. Minimum of 3 years' experience in personal tax within a practice environment. Strong technical knowledge of UK personal taxation, including experience with non-domiciled individuals and trusts. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships. Proficient in using tax software and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
