Tax Reporting Specialist
Hybrid role in Waterloo focused on accurate tax reporting and compliance for retirement products. Involves CRA/Revenue Quebec filing reconciliation and high-volume seasonal processing. Requires Excel expertise accounting knowledge and strong problem-solving skills to manage complex client inquiries efficiently.

Responsibilities:
Investigate and resolve customer inquiries concerns and complaints related to tax reporting for Canada Retirement products.
Ensure accuracy timeliness and professional handling of cases meeting set performance measures.
Produce and prepare tax forms reconcile withholding tax and perform monthly/year-end balancing.
Plan and execute pre-peak tax preparation including analyzing error reports and handling manual tax calculations.
Review and clean up previous peak season data to improve processes troubleshoot discrepancies and document procedures.
Interact with internal and external stakeholders to meet production and service standards.
Manage heavy workloads and high-stress peak periods with minimal supervision.
What you will need to succeed:
Accounting designation in progress or interest in pursuing one (asset).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
Knowledge of reconciliation and balancing procedures.
General understanding of financial services distribution channels compliance principles and CRA/Revenue Agency tax guidelines.
Experience in basic accounting or bookkeeping.
Investigative approach to resolving discrepancies.
Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude.
Excellent customer service communication (oral and written) and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to organize prioritize and manage multiple demands.
Capacity to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
Resilience and professionalism when dealing with aggressive or rude clients.
Background in insurance or group retirement products (asset).
