Position: Executive Chef
Reports To: General Manager
Department: Restaurant Operations
Location: Eastern Uganda (Tororo & Jinja)
Direct Reports: Supervisors Service Staff Kitchen
Role Purpose
The Executive Chef will oversee all culinary operations across three restaurants in Tororo and Jinja. This includes menu development maintaining exceptional food quality managing kitchen teams controlling costs and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop design and update menus including seasonal offerings.
Standardize recipes to maintain consistent quality and portion control.
Supervise and schedule kitchen staff; conduct training and performance reviews.
Manage inventory ordering and stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO).
Monitor and control food cost % waste % and labour cost.
Ensure compliance with health safety and sanitation regulations.
Conduct regular kitchen inspections and food quality checks.
Collaborate with management on operational strategies and promotional activities.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts Hospitality Management or related field.
Minimum 5 years experience as an Executive Chef in a busy restaurant chain.
Additional food safety or culinary certifications preferred.
