The Instrument Technician will be responsible for installing maintaining calibrating troubleshooting and repairing instrumentation and control systems used in sewage water treatment processes. This role ensures that all instrumentation operates efficiently accurately and in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
1. Installation & Maintenance
Install commission and maintain instrumentation and control systems including flow meters level sensors pressure transmitters pH/ORP analyzers turbidity meters and SCADA-linked devices.
Carry out preventive predictive and corrective maintenance on all plant instrumentation equipment.
2. Calibration & Testing
Perform routine calibration of instruments to ensure accurate readings for process control.
Document calibration activities as per quality standards.
3. Troubleshooting & Repair
Diagnose and repair faults in control systems PLC inputs/outputs and field instrumentation.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
4. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate maintenance logs calibration records and equipment history files.
Assist in preparing maintenance reports for management review.
5. Compliance & Safety
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations environmental standards and plant operating procedures.
Support HSE (Health Safety and Environment) initiatives and participate in safety drills.
6. Support Operations
Assist the operations team in optimizing process performance through accurate instrumentation.
Provide technical support during plant shutdowns start-ups and modifications.
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Instrumentation Electronics or related field.
Minimum 3 5 years of relevant experience in instrumentation maintenance preferably in sewage water treatment plants or industrial process plants.
Strong knowledge of process instrumentation control systems and SCADA/PLC systems.
Experience with preventive maintenance programs and fault diagnostics.
Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
Proficient in the use of testing and calibration equipment.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good communication skills in English (written & verbal).
Commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
Work may involve exposure to odors chemicals and outdoor conditions typical in sewage treatment facilities.
May require shift work and availability for emergency call-outs.
