We are looking for an individual to join us as a Consulting Manager in the VCA team based in Malaysia. This individual will act as the workstream lead to deliver one or more workstreams within broader consulting engagements or transformation programs for our key issuing acquiring merchant & fintech clients. Typically the individual will closely interact & work with the client team gathering and managing project inputs analyzing data to form conclusions and recommendations developing and presenting compelling project reports and working with clients on executing recommendations.
The program will include initiatives that cover payment strategy review and roadmap design portfolio and product-market fit assessment customer value proposition design/refresh people/talent enablement digital payments wallet assessment and launch mobile banking app diagnostics and enhancement and other growth initiatives. It will also cover improving customer engagement on client portfolios powered by Visas data collaborating closely with the data science teams on building data-driven solutions (e.g. AI model deployment).
The Consulting Manager will be responsible for identifying potential client business pain-points and areas for strategy and process improvement thereby defining project scope deliverables and revenue opportunity to sell-in client engagement projects and building new practice solutions.
- Contribute to the development of VCA consulting offerings and engagement delivery in Malaysia to help Visa clients protect and grow payments
- Develop trusted advisor relationships with client working teams through impactful consulting engagements
- Partner with peers in other functional areas (e.g. product marketing risk innovation) to execute projects in ways that leverage the breadth and depth of Visas resources
- Prepare client proposals and project plans identifying dependencies roles and responsibilities scope and deliverables
- Participate in delivering project engagements by preparing project materials including interview guides data requirements concepts frameworks
- Conduct industry research drawing on Visa and partner resources as well as colleagues to identify global best practices and distill insights relevant to the client problem at hand
- Create compelling presentations to illustrate findings ideas recommendations within consulting engagements and more broadly
- Support Thought Leadership projects on the future of payment to our clients and partners
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications
- 5 - 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 4 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD)
Preferred Qualifications
-We are looking to hire the ideal candidate who have already accumulated strong consulting experience and will be curious about the payments industry and keen to work alongside an experienced payments team. You will be client-driven you are comfortable managing a project end-to-end and you relish the opportunity to work closely with clients to influence their future performance.
Essential specific skillset and experience required:
-Minimum 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in consulting corporate strategy banking / financial services or business management. Manager-level experience in Big 4 consulting firms and equivalent / similar players is valued
-Good knowledge of the payments industry landscape and developments consumer trends and regulatory changes in Malaysia
-Excellent client relationship management skills with experience being part of strong sales teams and/or experience in dealing with senior client stakeholders
-Robust experience in execution / implementation driving initiatives to deliver concrete demonstrated business impact / value e.g. cost savings new product launch revenue uplift etc.
-Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
-Strong team orientation collaborative diplomatic and flexible able to work effectively in a matrixed organization
-Excellent presentation skills including strong oral and written capabilities
-Self-motivated results-oriented individual with the ability to progress multiple projects concurrently
-Strong commercial acumen with experience in working on business/value cases that prove ROI
-Strong detail orientation ensuring the highest level of quality/rigor in reports and data analysis
-Proven ability to drive innovation and lead change in successful top tier companies
-Exposure to customer experience design using human centered design and design thinking
-Strong undergraduate academic accomplishment
-Direct relevant experience in consulting roles and or payment / technology / financial services firms leading and executing large high impact client projects.
