Trainee Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer x2


Fully Funded Training Programme including a recognised Apprenticeship


Roaming Role Based on Sites in the East Midlands


13- 15p/h Depending on Experience and Training Required

5D are working with a leading civils contractor who are heavily involved in HS2 and a variety of other blue chip construction and infrastructure projects and are delighted to be involved in recruiting the next generation of site engineers.


Over the last twenty years this business has grown to be one of the UK s leading principal contractors and have developed a reputation for excellence.


Working on a variety of commercial and infrastructure construction projects this varied role is focussed in the East Midlands with projects including distribution centres roads rail and other large scale infrastructure projects.



Requirements

What we are Looking in a Candidate:

  • Some professional work experience ideally within the construction industry.
  • Level two qualifications in a related subject.
  • Maths & Science GCSE s at level 4 (grade C) or above.
  • Eligible to work in the UK. Unfortunately sponsorship cannot be offered for this role.


During your Training:

  • Working alongside an established site / setting out engineer helping them on their sites.
  • Supporting them with relevant documentation gathering of measurements / data etc.
  • As you grow in confidence and experience you will be exposed to more of the role - see below for role information.


What the Role Will Become:

  • Establishing site control.
  • Setting-up GPS base stations on site.
  • Topographical surveys using GPS instruments.
  • Setting out of complex sites.
  • Processing surveys.
  • Quantifying stockpiles and running earthworks analysis
  • Checking machine control accuracy and completing site QA.
  • Diagnosing machine control faults.
