Quality Management Intern

AECOM is seeking a Quality Management Intern to be based in our Burnaby office.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented engineering or architectural student to join our Burnaby office as a Quality Management Intern. This is a 4-8-month temporary full-time position depending on co-op work term availability ideal for a student who has completed at least 3 years of a Bachelors program in Civil Engineering or a related field and is eager to gain hands-on experience in quality management within the transportation industry.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist with monitoring and evaluation activities to help ensure compliance with AECOMs quality management systems.
• Support the maintenance of quality-related records and documentation.
• Help identify opportunities for process improvement and support the implementation of corrective actions.
• Collaborate with team members to address quality-related issues and contribute to technical problem-solving.
• Participate in internal audits inspections and reviews under the guidance of senior staff.
• Assist with data collection and analysis to support ongoing quality initiatives.
• Work alongside experienced professionals to gain insight into current business trends and industry best practices.
• May include construction inspection activities.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field and must have completed at least 3 years of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelors degree and plan to continue with the masters degree are eligible to apply for this position. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their Bachelors Degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and interest in quality systems and project delivery processes
• Previous internship or co-op experience in engineering construction or quality assurance is an asset
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001) is considered a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint)
