Job Description

A position has been declared open in the Weber School District at Horizon Academy for a part-time Secondary Aide (Emphasis: Student Advocacy and Classroom Support). This position is for5.75 hours per day 180 days (9 months) per year and is paid according to Lane 4(B) of the Paraprofessionals Salary Schedule.

Purpose Statement:

The role of the Student Advocate Aideis to support students below proficiency in a relational non-punitive manner fostering trust and rapport. This role is essential in helping students build academic behavioral and social skills through encouragement and tailored guidance allowing them to stay on pace or progress within the Weber School District graduation plan. Working under the guidance of the Counseling and Administration teams the Advocate Aide will provide direct support help students access school and community resources and collaborate with all stakeholders in the students educational journey.
