Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Directs and coordinates production efforts through shop foremen including planning assisting project managers with scheduling and ensures required equipment material and personnel are available to complete all assigned and upcoming jobs.
Requirements
Essential Functions:
- Ensure required personnel material and equipment is available to support all ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Coordinates with trade foremen to assign proper supervision to each project along with knowledgeable and experienced trade workers as required.
- Reviews all job requirements to ensure that technical requirements can be met and proper personnel are readily available to accomplish requirements.
- Alerts the Division Director if there are requirements that cannot be accomplished by the company so that other avenues may be pursued to accomplish the requirements.
- Ensures that all material is requisitioned on a timely basis so that the production team can accomplish work in a timely efficient manner.
- Will assist the Project/Program Manager when needed to accomplish estimates ensure reports are submitted with sound technical recommendations and schedule conflict resolution.
- Will work with HR Safety and QA to maintain all training and certifications.
- Responsible for the recruitment training supervision and evaluation of department staff.
- The Production Manager will also perform other duties as assigned.
- This position will also assure organizational compliance with all safety quality and environmental state local and federal regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ability to determine appropriate actions methods techniques and evaluation criteria for expediting results with training and coaching.

- Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public.
- Strong communication skills including oral written and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with subordinates management and customers.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
- Must have Microsoft Office Software experience and knowledge of Microsoft Project is a plus.
- Bachelors degree in Marine Engineering Naval Architecture or other engineering fields preferred.
- Three to five years related marine shipyard or industrial experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to gain access to military installations.
- Must successfully pass a drug screen and background investigation.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to tour all vessels piers docks and work sites to perform the duties of this job. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use of hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. (Ability to view computer monitors without eye strain for extended periods of time).
