The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Outreach Specialist 3 to work at the UHealth medical campus in Miami FL.
CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Outreach Specialist 3 supports in developing and implementing new and existing public education and outreach programs serving as a liaison to the community. The incumbent performs a wide variety of duties and demonstrates a high level of professionalism and effectiveness. Moreover the incumbent utilizes project management skills to organize community outreach activities. The Outreach Specialist 3 serves as a lead when the Director is unavailable.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Supports in the development and implementation of public education and outreach programs.
2. Works with community-based organizations to plan promotional educational and other events targeted towards designing an increased awareness in the community.
3. Assists in publishing activities: writing editing budgeting scheduling and distribution.
4. Interacts effectively with outside advertising agencies printers photographers and other vendors.
5. Aids with the preparation and distribution of public health education and navigation manuals.
6. Identifies effective strategies for promoting enrollment in ongoing studies conducting active and passive recruitment in-person and online outreach.
7. Conducts brief surveys by phone and in community settings.
8. Aids with compiling data for presentations.
9. Develops professional relationships with mental health providers researchers and community members.
10. Collaborates with other members of the team on special projects and events.
11. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelors degree in relevant field required
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures technologies and protocols and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software technology and relevant computer applications.
- Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
