Exciting Opportunities with Share Food Program! We are looking for a Home Delivery Program Coordinator to add to our team!
Share Food Program (Share) is the leading hunger relief organization in the Greater Philadelphia region and one of the largest independent food banks in the nation. Share feeds hundreds of thousands of individuals each monthmore than half of whom are children and seniors. The ripple effects of the pandemic record rates of inflation and critical cuts to government assistance benefits have plunged even more people into hunger and poverty. Philadelphia has the highest rate of poverty of any major city in the U.S. and food insecurity is a public health crisis. Our network of caring volunteers dedicated professionals and generous donors works to bring nourishing food to our neighbors in need.
Since 2022 the need for Shares services has increased by 120% and the need will only increase with the passage of recent legislation. Share is committed to being at the forefront of advocacy fighting against these policies and ensuring everyone has access to food. Funding for advocacy and expanding its major donor program are strategic goals for Share. Furthermore Share has successfully completed two stages of its capital campaign to expand and revolutionize its Philadelphia warehouse headquarters at the heart of Shares operations to help more neighbors in need.
Position Overview:
Shares Home Delivery Program provides a safe and dignified way for clients to receive food and is rapidly growing. Under the direction of the Senior Food Box Program Manager the Home Delivery Program Coordinator will coordinate and support all of Shares home delivery-related operations working with seniors and the organizations serving them to coordinate reliable deliveries of food boxes that have been packed by our volunteers to be delivered to their doorstep. Primary responsibilities include handling recipient phone calls facilitating onsite and offsite delivery events creating delivery reports receiving feedback from stakeholders on overall satisfaction with Shares home delivery operations and supporting development of a pilot program to increase volunteer and corporate support for Shares home delivery efforts.
Core Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Field phone calls from home delivery clients to schedule delivery sign-up for programs referrals to partners etc.
- Serve as the main point of contact for home delivery partner agencies communicating program updates scheduling deliveries providing delivery reminders and managing partner requests
- Create monthly reporting for Senior Food Box home delivery partners
- Track and record program participation data
- Conduct biannual compliance visits to home delivery partners
- Coordinate delivery events including but not limited to:
- Coordinate with warehouse operations staff to stage food inventory
- Set-up and breakdown delivery event space including staging traffic cones signage etc.
- Collaborate with volunteer team on volunteer needs
- Debrief drivers on compliance requirements and proper delivery practices
- Problem-solve live orders with drivers recipients and partners to mitigate errors (lost boxes inaccurate deliveries etc.)
- Monitor returned deliveries
- Drive to mobile distribution events when needed
- Strategize with internal and external stakeholders to grow Shares home delivery program in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties
- Improve and maintain existing delivery systems creating new systems as needed
- Create a feedback loop for recipients drivers partners and any additional relevant stakeholders to improve overall home delivery operations
- Support development of a pilot program to increase volunteer and corporate partner support to execute home delivery drop offs
- Recruit train and coordinate volunteers
- Maintain accurate volunteer records and scheduling
- Assist with fostering volunteer engagement and retention
- Some weekend work is required
- Additional duties as required
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Great understanding of customer service
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience leading and coordinating volunteers
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite particularly Excel
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation are required and a clean driving record is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Position requires standing up to 10% of the time
- Position requires keyboard use or repetitive hand motion
- Position requires lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds at times
Environmental Risks:
- Position includes potential exposure to loud noises extreme temperatures allergens and warehouse environment up to 20% of the time.
LOCATION
- Share Food Program is located in the Philadelphia Warehouse at 2901 West Hunting Park Philadelphia. his is a hybrid position with on-site days required multiple days per week.
COMPENSATION
Salary range $45000 to $50000
