Job Title: Design Engineer
Location: Barnsley
Salary: 35000 - 45000 per annum
Type: Permanent
We are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering company based in Barnsley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong design background and experience in developing jigs and fixtures.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD designs (preferably using Creo or equivalent CAD software)
Develop and control jigs and fixtures for manufacturing and assembly processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with project objectives
Create and maintain technical documentation including drawings BOMs and specifications
Support continuous improvement activities related to product design and manufacturing efficiency
Requirements:
Experience in 2D and 3D CAD design Creo or similar software preferred
Strong mechanical design background with a focus on jigs and fixtures
Good understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
