You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Physiotherapist (in collaboration with the interprofessional team) is responsible for providing person centred patient assessments and interventions including recommendations for follow-up as required i.e. Home Care Program community or rehabilitation resources on the Oncology Patient Services Units. This position will provide coverage to both the surgical and medical oncology units.
The successful candidate will also:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives evaluative processes that include the use of standardized and valid outcome measures report writing and research activities.
Participates in continuing professional development activities including the provision of clinical and educational in-services that fosters ongoing learning professionalism interprofessional collaborations and best practices in physiotherapy for acute care patients.
Supervises physical therapy students on an ongoing basis.
Is a resource for the education of interprofessional students.
Is an expert resource for: staff students and other health care providers related to physiotherapy.
Participates on appropriate committees and in discipline-specific activities within Physiotherapy Services.
Practices in accordance with the College of Physiotherapy of Ontario standards of practice.
Qualifications/Skills
Must possess MScPT or equivalent with Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario in good standing
Registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario for Tracheal Suctioning and Administering a Substance by Inhalation is a definite asset
One to two years of general acute care physiotherapy experience preferred
Demonstrated well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
Established well-developed time management prioritization and organizational skills
Member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred
